SUMMARY:The Dan May Band at the Fallser
DESCRIPTION:The Dan May Band \nDan May is one of a rare breed of singer-songwriters that has made the successful transition from \nclassical to popular music. After a 12-year career that saw him singing roles with opera \ncompanies across the US and Canada\, he began writing and performing his own songs in 2005\, \nwhich has resulted in seven critically-acclaimed albums\, including “Dying Breed\,” which made \nthe The Philadelphia Inquirer’s list of “Top Ten Albums of the Year.” \nMay’s music has appeared on radio\, in television and film\, as well as orchestral performances \nand his warm baritone and folk-pop songs with their rootsy embellishments that “brim with \nhooks and heart as well as intelligence and grace” have been embraced by live audiences from \ncoast to coast. \nReferred to as a “consummate storyteller\, May has also authored two books\, including \n“Adventures in Grocery Shopping\,” which was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer list of “Best \nBooks of 2016.” Dan’s live shows now include readings from both books in addition to singing \nsongs off of his seven albums. The readings have become a fan favorite and a staple of his live \nperformances. \nwebsite: danmaycd.com \nHannah Linowski \nhttps://www.instagram.com/hannah.linowski.music/

SUMMARY:Judy Paster and Matt Santry at The Fallser
DESCRIPTION:Judy Paster \nJudy Paster is a Nashville-based\, Pennsylvania-grown Americana artist whose music carries the soul of her story—honest\, authentic\, and full of hope. She started writing songs at age 8\, using music as a way to process pain\, faith\, and a longing for peace\, knowing even then that music was healing. Her father’s battle with Alzheimer’s and a season of living on the road shaped both her heart and her voice. \nJudy’s Trio debut features two Grammy-winning members of The Time Jumpers\, weaving fiddle\, upright bass\, and acoustic guitar into a rich\, rootsy sound. Her songs have been featured in film and TV (Christmas Crush\, The Holiday Exchange\, Music City Misletoe)\, and she first gained national attention when Billboard called her a “truly on the rise” artist after the release of her debut EP. \nSince moving to Nashville\, she’s earned airplay\, carved a space in the singer-songwriter scene\, and received multiple awards including the 2021 Josie Music Award for Folk/Americana Artist of the Year and a Canadian Covenant Award. Judy has written and shared stages with some of Music City’s top writers\, released five albums (Judy Paster\, Stronger\, Rubies\, Rocks & Stones\, Like Stardust\, Road To The Sun)\, and is currently part of Women Behind the Lyrics—a national tour and reality TV series. Through it all\, her music remains a steady companion—for herself and for others—offering light\, strength\, and something real in a world that too often sells the opposite. \nhttps://www.judypaster.com/ \nMatt Santry \nMatt Santry writes songs rooted in relatable moments like late-night overthinking\, long drives\, fleeting relationships\, and the perspective that comes with getting older. His songs often begin with small\, specific scenes like a long red light\, coffee shared in silence\, or the memory of someone who slipped out of your life as quickly as they arrived. Before writing his own music\, Santry worked as a social worker with children with autism. One moment changed the way he saw music forever when one of his mostly nonverbal clients sang an entire Christmas song from memory. The experience sparked his path into songwriting and a lifelong search for the kind of human connection music can create. Today he performs his original music and live shows for audiences across the country while continuing to write and release new material. His work has since led to placements on Peacock\, WWE\, and HBO Max\, while his voice has appeared in national campaigns for NBC’s The Voice\, McDonald’s Australia\, Dollar Shave Club\, and Febreze. \nhttps://www.mattsantry.com/

SUMMARY:Dervish at the Fallser
DESCRIPTION:Dervish\n \n  \nAt the end of 2019 Dervish received a prestigious lifetime achievement award from the BBC\, a fitting tribute to the band after over 30 years of recording and performing all over the world. Described by the BBC as “an icon of Irish music”\, the band have played at festivals from Rio to Glastonbury. They accompanied the Irish President on state visits to Latvia and Lithuania and Prime Minister of Ireland on a trade mission to China as Cultural Ambassadors taking time out to play an impromptu session on the Great Wall of China. Dervish have a line-up which includes some of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians\, fronted by one of the country’s best-known singers\, Cathy Jordan. \nThe Guardian newspaper commented: “Dervish are simply brilliant. . they carry Irish history with them.” Dervish are long-established as one of the biggest names in Irish music internationally. They’re renowned for live performances\, which match dazzling sets of tunes with stunning interpretations of traditional songs.  Their studio and live albums – 13 to date – make up one of the outstanding catalogues in Irish music. \nThey are regular visitors to the US\, performing sell out shows from coast to coast. However\, their fan base stretches across several continents\, including Europe\, Asia\, and South America. They were the first Irish band to play the world’s biggest music festival\, Rock in Rio\, performing to an estimated 250\,000 people. Over the years they’ve been on the same bill as artists such as James Brown\, Neil Young\, Sting and even Iron Maiden! In 2018 Dervish are still busy touring internationally and still making plans. The band are excited about signing for the renowned US roots label Rounder Records and will be releasing their first album on the label in 2018 featuring guest appearances by artists including Vince Gill\, Steve Earl\, David Gray and many others. \nAll six members of Dervish are steeped in the musical traditions of counties Sligo and Leitrim in north-west Ireland. It’s an area which matches Atlantic coastline with storied mountains and rural landscapes. It has inspired a host of musicians\, artists and writers\, including the Nobel Prize-winning poet W. B. Yeats. \nIn 2004 Dervish were given their home towns highest honour when they were given the freedom of Sligo City in a civic reception\, an accolade they share with Yeats himself\, Michael Flatley and Countess Markievicz. Dervish were formed in 1989 when four of the founding members met while playing informal sessions in the pubs of Sligo. – Shane Mitchell (accordion)\,Liam Kelly (flute/whistle)\, Brian McDonagh (mandola/mandolin) and Michael Holmes (bouzouki). They were soon joined by Roscommon born singer and bodhran (drum) player Cathy Jordan\, and later by all Ireland Fiddle Champion Tom Morrow in 1998. It’s a remarkable and at times electric combination – “capable of playing with note-perfect accuracy and perfect control at nearly supersonic levels” (Irish Voice\, New York). \nBut Dervish marry technical brilliance with a rare sensibility\, born of an understanding of the music and many years of playing together. The Irish Times said their “integrity makes the group a formidable heir to the throne abandoned by The Bothy Band\, if not a serious contender for The Chieftains’ international space.” The News Journal (Delaware) described Dervish as: “The most compelling\, most soulful Irish traditional folk band playing today. If you ever find yourself in the beautiful town of Sligo on the wild Atlantic way\, check out the music sessions that take place in many establishments. The members of Dervish enjoy playing tunes back where it all began. \n\n  \nDervish Social:\nFacebook \nInstagram \nSpotify \n  \nClick Here for Tickets

SUMMARY:Philly Loves Lillith: A Tribute To Lillith Fair at the Fallser
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1997 by Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan\, Lilith Fair was a groundbreaking all-female touring festival that ran through 1999\, with a brief revival in 2010. Created to amplify women’s voices in an industry that routinely sidelined them\, it showcased artists such as Sheryl Crow\, Jewel\, and Fiona Apple\, becoming the highest-grossing festival of the late 1990s while directly confronting entrenched misogyny in the music business. \nThe Fallser Club’s Lilith tribute honors that legacy and answers this moment: a reminder that women are full human beings—artists\, leaders\, and decision-makers—who deserve autonomy\, safety\, and respect on every stage and in every space. SUMMARY:Vance GIlbert at the Fallser
DESCRIPTION:Vance Gilbert\n \nIf Joni Mitchell and Richie Havens had a love child\, with Rodney Dangerfield as the midwife\, the results might be something close to the great Vance Gilbert”\, says Richmond Magazine. \n \nVance’s new album\, “The Mother Of Trouble”\, features Grammy winner Lori McKenna on background vocals\, Juno award recipient and Bonnie Raitt Grammy hit song co-writer Joey Landreth on guitars\, and Americana-Roots master mandolinist Joe K. Walsh. With 4 bullies\, 4 deaths (3 of them murders)\, 3 moms\, 2 accidents\, 2 Black people\, 2 dogs\, 1 dog ball\,\, and 1 missed flight thanks to gas station sushi\, this album benefits from the gifts of time and experience honing songwriting skills that put this most vital of acoustic storytellers at the top of the game. \n \nOh\, and Management wants to make sure to tell you that this is the 14th release for this acoustic stalwart. \n \nOne of the originators of the finally recognized R&B/Folk/Jazz crossover-sub-genre\, Vance was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. Starting out hoping to be an R&B and jazz singer once at college\, there he discovered his affinity for the storytelling sensibilities of the acoustic singer-songwriter thing. Word spread like wildfire about Gilbert’s stage-owning singing and playing\, and Shawn Colvin invited him to be special guest on her 1992 Fat City tour where he took much of America by storm and by surprise. “With the voice of an angel\, the wit of a devil\, and the guitar playing of a god..” wrote the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. \nNoted not only for being the ever consummate performer\, Gilbert has recorded 13 albums\, including 5 for Philo/Rounder Records. Along with being opener of choice for artists as varied as Arlo Guthrie\, Anita Baker\, The Milk Carton Kids\, and Southside Johnny\, the mid 2000’s found Gilbert opening 150+ shows for comedian George Carlin. \nGilbert has also been a prominent presence at some of the world’s most prestigious gatherings and halls\, among them the Newport\, Winnipeg\, Rocky Mountain\, Calgary\, Ottawa\, and Falcon Ridge Folk festivals\, the Kate Wolf Music Festival\, and Australia’s Woodford Folk and Mullum Music Festivals\, Mountain Stage\, Boston’s Symphony Hall\, Nashville’s Lyman Auditorium\, The Barns at Wolftrap\, and a private party for his veterinarian where there was terrific lo-mein. \n\nhttps://vancegilbert.com/ \nhttps://www.facebook.com/vancegilbertmusic \nhttps://www.instagram.com/vancevancevance/

In a dozen albums spanning three decades of recording\, the Denver-born songwriter/guitarist/singer has tackled such topics as the death penalty\, anorexia nervosa\, shoplifting\, reproduction\, the French Resistance\, adolescent malaise\, LGBTQ issues\, and the Christian Right. Her hits include “I Kissed A Girl”—the first openly gay-themed song ever to crack the Billboard Top 20—and the alt-rock anthem “Supermodel” featured in the film Clueless. Sobule was one half of The Jill & Julia Show\, providing music while actor Julia Sweeney contributes storytelling. Jill is considered a pioneer in crowdfunding and is constantly exploring and creating new models for artists in an ever-changing music industry. \nJill’s new record\, F*ck 7th Grade – Original Cast Recording and will be released on her own Pinko Records label on June 6th. Her theater credits included a musical adaptation of the Broadway classic Yentl\, Prozak and the Platypus\, and Times Square. In November of 2019 Jill sang a song as herself on an episode of the Simpsons.  F*ck 7th Grade ran off-Broadway for four (4) runs in three (3) years and gained a New York Times Critics Pick. Drama Desk nominated this autobiographical musical\, which premiered at the Wild Project in 2022; had a reboot in the Winter of 2023 – and ran again for three weeks in 2024. \nAlso on June 6th\, Rhino Records is releasing her self-titled Atlantic Records album on red vinyl for the first time – to time with Pride Month! This year marks the album’s 30th Anniversary! \nFollowing her untimely demise on May 1st\, many of her previously scheduled shows have morphed into Jillith Fair – Loving Jill Sobule shows\, benefiting the new It Was A Good Life Foundation. Funds will be distributed by this foundation to the ACLU and other causes Jill cared deeply about. The hope is that these shows will become annual events on her birthday\, January 16th & during Pride Month in the future. \nJill left behind two partially completed  albums\, 50-70+ finished tracks\, hundreds of demos\, and a few titles that had fallen out of print. Plus\, we’re hoping a tribute album will take shape for release to time with a feature length documentary on her that should be completed by years’ end. We hope to help keep her spirit\, memory\, & music alive. \n“Jill Sobule can claim her place among the stellar New York singer-songwriters of the last decade. Topical\, funny and more than a little poignant …grown-up music for an adolescent age.” – The New York Times \nWhen Jill performed at the Fallser Club in 2024\, our Executive Director Ashana Larsen had the chance to sit down and talk with her about her amazing career\, changing the world\, losing things\, and gaining ourselves. Take a listen to the podcast episode below: https://youtu.be/pwWNa7Zl4Bk. \nTo celebrate the life and work of Jill Sobule\, her family and friends have established two funds: \nThe It Was a Good Life Foundation will distribute donations to the ACLU and other charitable causes Jill cared deeply about. \nIn both her songs and life\, Jill was an outspoken activist for the political and cultural topics she believed in. This foundation will \ndistribute all donations to charitable causes that Jill deeply cared and sang about. All donations to the It Was A Good Life Foundation will go to qualified public charities. \nPLEASE DONATE HERE – https://secure.lawpay.com/pages/hertzlichtensteinyoungyoungllp/trust-2-card \nThe Jill Sobule Legacy Fund. All donations will go to the furtherance of Jill’s songbook. Jill left behind two partially completed albums\, \nOver 70 partially finished tracks\, hundreds of demos and at least four musicals. Her loved ones hope to keep her spirit\, memory and music alive by releasing this work. \nPLEASE DONATE HERE – https://secure.lawpay.com/pages/hertzlichtensteinyoungyoungllp/trust-1 \nJim Boggia\n \n  \nFor more than 20 years\, Jim Boggia has been winning over fans\, critics\, contemporaries and luminaries alike with his uncompromising devotion to the sort of winsomely nostalgic\, emotionally direct songcraft that’s impervious to age. His sonically intelligent retro-pop manifesto informs three studio albums—2001’s Fidelity Is the Enemy\, 2005’s Safe in Sound and 2008’s Misadventures in Stereo—and he’s worked with a startling array of artists\, including Aimee Mann\, Juliana Hatfield\, Mike Viola\, Tracy Bonham\, Bernadette Peters\, David Poe\, NRBQ’s Big Al Anderson\, famed Beach Boys lyricist Tony Asher\, MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer\, Attractions drummer Pete Thomas\, esteemed ’70s pop misfit Emitt Rhodes\, and Canadian songstress Amanda Marshall. Also an accomplished singer and guitarist\, Boggia performs with the well-known New York City-based Beatles tribute band\, the Fab Faux\, as well as Mad Dogs & Dominos\, an 18-piece collective headed by a heavyweight roster that includes Blues Brothers alum Lou Marini and producer John Leventhal. Oh\, and he plays a mean ukulele. \nhttps://www.jimboggiamusic.com/ \nhttps://jimboggia.bandcamp.com/ \nhttps://open.spotify.com/search/jim%20boggia \n@jimboggia \nMarykate O’Neil\n \n  \nMulti-media artist\, Marykate O’Neil\,  has released six albums\, a few cassettes\, and a couple of .45’s.  Her music has been played on the radio\, internets and has been featured in movies and television. Marykate has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe to big festival crowds and to empty seats in darkened basements.  Her paintings are exhibited throughout NYC’s galleries and are held in private and University collections. \nMarykate’s music has been described as  — Elvis Costello meets Astrud Gilberto; a female George Harrison; a happy Aimee Mann; a folk Bjork; a Capote-esque storyteller; and most frequently like herself. The Boston Globe might have said it best (or at least the funniest) when they said: “O’Neil’s literate lyrics feature the sort of off-kilter insights Emily Dickinson might make if alive today. After listening to commercial radio\, hearing O’Neil sing is like reading Sylvia Path’s brutally honest poetry in the wake of watching “American Idol”. \nTracy Bonham\n \n  \nTwo time GRAMMY® nominee Tracy Bonham is a classically trained violinist\, pianist\, and vocalist turned alt-rock singer-songwriter. \nBonham’s debut\, The Burdens of Being Upright (Island Records)\, achieved Gold Record status in 1996 spawning the chart-topping hit “Mother Mother” which has remained a powerful anthem for disenfranchised youth all over the world. \nDave Derby\n \nDerby serves as a songwriter and producer for Gramercy Arms\, a New York City musical and artist collective featuring members of Luna\, Elk City\, The Dambuilders\, Guided by Voices\, Shudder to Think\, Joan As Police Woman\, Mascott\, Sparklehorse and A Girl Called Eddy\, as well as notable artists such as Lloyd Cole\, Tanya Donelly\, Matthew Caws\, Doug Gillard\, Diesel and Kay Hanley. Derby has also produced albums for Reveal Records. \nJohathan Coulton\n \nJonathan Coulton is a singer-songwriter and cult favorite known for witty\, emotionally resonant songs that bridge geek culture\, storytelling\, and pop craftsmanship. A former software coder\, he found his creative calling in the early 2000s\, inspired by the rise of Creative Commons and the DIY possibilities of the internet. In 2005\, he quit his day job and launched Thing-A-Week\, releasing a new song every week and building a devoted online audience that helped redefine how independent musicians connect with fans. \nBlending humor and heart\, Coulton’s songs often explore big ideas through offbeat characters—resentful teen nerds\, lonely supervillains\, even singing shop vacs—while touching on deeper themes of identity\, connection\, and technology. Over the years\, he’s evolved from acoustic storyteller to ambitious conceptualist\, collaborating with artists like John Flansburgh (Artificial Heart) and experimenting with new sonic landscapes. \nHis concept album Solid State (with a companion graphic novel by Matt Fraction and Albert Monteys) is a meditation on how the internet has transformed from utopian promise to digital dystopia. Mixing rock-opera ambition with electronic experimentation\, it explores themes of surveillance\, identity\, connection\, and apocalypse—told from both human and machine perspectives. Songs like “All This Time\,” “Brave\,” and “Don’t Feed the Trolls” probe our fractured online culture\, while “Ball and Chain” and “Tattoo” tackle intimacy and permanence in a changing world. \nCoulton continues to push the boundaries of songwriting\, using humor\, empathy\, and sharp observation to illuminate the complicated relationships between technology\, humanity\, and hope. \nhttps://www.jonathancoulton.com/ \nDave Derby \n  \n \n  \nDerby serves as a songwriter and producer for Gramercy Arms\, a New York City musical and artist collective featuring members of Luna\, Elk City\, The Dambuilders\, Guided by Voices\, Shudder to Think\, Joan As Police Woman\, Mascott\, Sparklehorse and A Girl Called Eddy\, as well as notable artists such as Lloyd Cole\, Tanya Donelly\, Matthew Caws\, Doug Gillard\, Diesel and Kay Hanley. Derby has also produced albums for Reveal Records. \nRafa Maciejak\n \nRafa Maciejak is a musician known for drumming with 90s indie band Ivy\, playing with Lloyd Cole and being part of the rotating cast for Gramercy Arms. He now fronts the electronic/indie \nproject PLSTC\, shifting from behind the drums to create music with new wave/post-punk influences\, alongside vocalist Shimme\, exploring modern themes. \nJames Mastro\n \n  \nJames Mastro – guitarist\, multi-instrumentalist\, producer\, and acclaimed singer-songwriter – has toured the world with rock and pop icons including Patti Smith\, Ian Hunter\, Judy Collins\, John Cale\, The Jayhawks\, Alejandro Escovedo\, Garland Jeffreys\, and Jesse Malin\, even serving as musical director for Robert Plant. Known for his inventive\, emotive playing — channeling the spirit of David Bowie and Mick Ronson — Mastro steps firmly into the spotlight with his MPress Records release\, Dawn of a New Error. \nThe album’s 10 tracks balance twangy Americana with art-rock edge\, showcasing Mastro’s sharp songwriting\, textural guitar work\, and hook-filled melodies. Produced by Tony Shanahan and mixed by Grammy nominee James Frazee\, the record features appearances by Ian Hunter and a lineup of powerhouse drummers. Highlights include the anthemic opener “Right Words\, Wrong Song\,” the introspective “My God\,” and the gospel-tinged “Someday Someone Will Turn Your Head Around.” \nA fixture of the New York music scene since his teens\, Mastro began playing CBGB’s and Max’s Kansas City at 16\, joined Richard Lloyd’s band by 17\, and later helped launch the Hoboken sound with The Bongos. In the ’90s\, he fronted alt-country favorites The Health & Happiness Show before becoming a longtime collaborator with Ian Hunter and contributing to projects by Jill Sobule\, Phoebe Snow\, and The Feelies. \nDawn of a New Error affirms Mastro’s place as one of America’s most versatile and passionate rock artists — a lifelong fan who never stopped sneaking onto the stage. \nTara Murtha\n Lisa Schaffer Photography \nTara Murtha is an author\, essayist\, Bobbie Gentry evangelist\, on-stage interview & moderator (for hire!)\, off-stage musician\, public speaker\, abortion rights & queer equality advocate\, and comms person\, pop culture enthusiast\, working cat mom\, and public interest communications expert writing\, cooking\, and learning how to use power tools in Philadelphia\, USA. \nPast lives: Award-winning investigative journalist and city columnist\, Ochberg Fellow at the Dart Center for Journalism & Trauma at the University of Columbia Graduate School of Journalism\, college writing instructor\, arts editor\, equal pay demander\, alt-weekly alum. \nhttps://www.taramurtha.com/ \nTammy Faye Starlight\n \nPhoto by John Huntington \nTammy Faye Starlight is the stage name for T. D. Lang\, an NYC-based performance artist\, cabaret singer\, and actress known for her satirical character work and original songs. Her most famous persona\, Tammy Faye Starlight\, is a fictional right-wing country singer who debuted in 1996. Starlight also performs as other historical figures\, such as the late Velvet Underground singer Nico\, and Israeli pop star Tamar. She is celebrated for her razor-sharp wit\, ability to blend humor with tragedy\, and for bringing forgotten or marginalized figures to life on stage. \nFacebook \nInstagram \nDavid Weisberg\n \nDavid Weisberg is a singer-songwriter\, event producer\, and changemaker advancing causes ranging from LGBTQ health equity to environmental sustainability and cross-border Middle East partnerships. He has produced concerts and events with performers ranging from Pete Seeger to Mandy Patinkin\, and from St. Vincent to Stephen Schwartz\, and released the album Crying for Crying’s Sake. David was a long-time co-conspirator of Jill Sobule’s projects\, ranging from her Yentl music to her My Song Is My Weapon platform. \nhttps://www.instagram.com/dweisberg68 \nRichard Barone\n \nRichard Barone is a recording artist\, performer\, producer\, and author. His list of collaborators includes producer Tony Visconti\, Donovan\, Lou Reed\, and folk legend Pete Seeger. His friendship and collaboration with Jill Sobule — from singing on her Lava Records debut album\, touring as The Richard & Jill Show\, co-writing songs including “Rock Me To Sleep\,” “Bitter\,” and “Big Shoes\,” to producing and arranging “Island of Lost Things” on her final album Nostalgia Kills — spanned over thirty years. Barone has scored shows and staged all-star concerts at venues such as Carnegie Hall\, the Hollywood Bowl\, and SummerStage in Central Park. His memoir\, Frontman: Surviving The Rock Star Myth\, was published by Backbeat Books. His album Sorrows & Promises and his latest book\, Music + Revolution (Bloomsbury/Backbeat)\, are celebrations of the 1960s music scene in Greenwich Village\, NYC\, where Barone lives. He teaches the course “Music + Revolution” at The New School’s School of Jazz & Contemporary Music\, has served on the Board of Governors of The Recording Academy (GRAMMYs)\, serves on the Advisory Board of Anthology Film Archives\, and hosts the Folk Radio show on WBAI New York. \nhttps://richardbarone.com/ \n@RichardBarone \n10% off  Taqueria Cresta with your Fallser Club ticket!!\nBy Car or By Train \nThe East Falls Train Station is a short walk from the Fallser Club. SUMMARY:Jaffna and Grupo Sumak De Philadelphia at The Fallser
DESCRIPTION:Winter solstice is the darkest day of the year. In the darkness\, there is an opportunity to let go of things that no longer serve us. It also represents the return of the light\, and there is an opportunity to call in what we need.\nWe look forward to celebrating this opportunity to heal and set our intentions for the year to come. Bring your bright spirit to help us collectively illuminate the darkness together.\n  \nJaffna\n\nJaffna is an acoustic\, ethnic fusion ensemble that plays original music. This Philadelphia-based world music ensemble combines instrumentation and influences from the Middle East\, India\, and anywhere else that inspires them. With roots in the early 1990s\, the group maintains its distinct style with original compositions and improvisations that stretch the boundaries of their respective cultures. Jaffna has produced 2 CDs of original music and its members maintain a high level of activity in many world music projects such as Barakka\, One\, Hindugrass\, Arehm and Atzilut. \nJaffna musicians have created a musical universe with oud\, guitar\, tabla\, and dumbek\, where they can all argue\, eat and stay good friends.  Along with the strong Mid-East and Indian flavor come unmistakable flamenco\, rock\, Balkan\, and jazz influences\, the result of jamming in and around the vibrant Philadelphia world music scene for years. \n \nJaffna Sites:\nFacebook\nMusic \n  \nGRUPO SUMAK DE PHILADELPHIA\n \nWe are a Philly-based band made up of immigrants from Latin America. We play music inspired from Peruvian chicha and Colombian cumbia and infuse it with the grit and flavor of the beautiful city of Philadelphia. We like to get people dancing in joy and rebellion as we play hypnotic grooves and psychedelic electric guitars. \n  \n \nhttps://www.instagram.com/grupo_sumak_de_philadelphia \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAes5ZXWpsU
