Moving Pictures define the modern era, shape the way we see the world, and provide a lens for visions of possibility. Movies, TV, Zoetropes, Nickelodeons are magic, letting our minds travel through space and time, into other people and things, and fly free, unfettered by the surly bonds of reality.
Cine Qua Non works to bridge the gap between the ‘real world’ and the moving picture. Through our regular monthly events, special screenings, and annual festival, we will explore how moving pictures have shaped the way we see the world.
With the aspirational goal of creating a dedicated real world space to watch movies together (maybe the Empress rises phoenixlike from the ashes?), CQN brings together neighbors and friends to see stories unfold together.
