SUMMARY:Prudence Play
DESCRIPTION:Written and performed by Caroline Dunn\nDirected by Frances Rippy \n\nBuy tickets ar https://www.boyzwithapple.com/prudence-play \nAfter a 5-star Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut and a sold out NYC extended run\, writer and performer Caroline Dunn is bringing her one-woman-show PRUDENCE PLAY to Philly for only 3 shows!\nPrudence Play (or Sister Prudence is Not Gay!) stars a young catholic nun having an identity (gay-as-hell) crisis. From her fever dream of tap dancing\, or her hot and heavy thoughts during the Lenten fish fry\, you understand…she’s having a moment. She’s waking up to feelings for a fellow sister\, wrestling with her every belief\, and confessing a lot (perhaps too much) to the order’s new priest. As memories from her past resurface and her dreams get more sinful\, Prudence begins to question the voice in her head and is forced to confront her (horny) (gay) demons.\nPrudence takes us on a beautifully human and hilarious journey into the mind of a young nun trapped by her own choices. Through humor and her surprising candor\, the show explores queerness and lesbian identity\, modern-day conservative catholicism\, as well as the mental re-wiring it takes to free oneself of shame. As Prudence hits her breaking point\, she welcomes the audience in with open arms\, hilariously rambling freak-outs\, and repressed memories. Just as she starts to question her reality\, so will you. Plus\, what would a repressed gay nun play be without a tap dancing dream sequence?\n“…tender\, funny\, a warm embrace of queerness and imperfect self acceptance”\n– Stephen Kearly\, Hi! Drama (NYC Premiere 2026)\n“With good humour\, Caroline Dunn’s powerful\, haunting script throws a spotlight on the mental conflict conservative religious teachings impose on gay people.”\n★★★★★\n-Counter Culture UK (World Premiere\, Ed Fringe 2026)\n“Dunn infuses Prudence with remarkable warmth and humanity…What begins as broad comedy deepens into something more profound. The play grows darker\, more contemplative\, as Prudence confronts the voices in her head.”\n★★★★\nThe Nerd Party (World Premiere\, Ed Fringe 2026)\n“Iconic…funny…a tender exploration of a blossoming queer identity…an inspiring work…”\n★★★★\nReviews by J (World Premiere\, Ed Fringe 2026)\nPRUDENCE PLAY\nWritten and performed by Caroline Dunn\nDirected by Frances RippyCo-produced by Boyz with Apple & babygood\nTickets: boyzwithapple.com\nHarmonie Hall\nMay 1st-2nd\nMay 1 @7pm\, May 2nd @2pm\, May 2nd @7pm \nKeep up with Prudence & our artists on Instagram!\n@prudenceplayig\n@boyzwithapple\n@babygoodmakes\n@itscarolinedunn (Instagram & TikTok)

SUMMARY:PJ Brown and Caroline in the Garden at the Fallser
DESCRIPTION:PJ Brown and Her Resistance with Caroline in the Garden \nPJ Brown and Her Resistance \nLike a band of misfits heeding the clarion call of Philadelphia’s most revered musical ghosts\, PJ Brown and Her Resistance assembled for the first time (feat. members of WPJO and the legendary Martha Graham Cracker) for a sold-out show at World Café Live! What started as a full-steam homage to Miss Sharon Jones took a left turn when the wheels fell off and the ship lifted high above Love Park \, clipping the hat off that bird-dropping-covered statue of William Penn and straight into the sun. \nPJ Brown and Her Resistance continues its mission to spread love and music – To celebrate lost souls\, excited shapeshifters\, perennial drifters\, aspiring troublemakers. and unapologetic agents of change. \nIt’s troubled soul music\, taped-together rock and roll\, basement party funk—it’s dark as night and light as day—and all of it is for you! \nhttps://www.pjbhr.com/ \nCaroline in the Garden \nCaroline in the Garden is the imaginative pop project of singer-songwriter/producer Caroline Milby. Known for warm minor chord energy\, off-kilter piano hooks and lush orchestrations\, Caroline explores what it means to unhinge yourself from societies’ expectations after spending decades on the capitalist conveyor belt. \nHeavily influenced by Kate Bush and 90s Lilith Fair icons\, Caroline got her start in the Philadelphia art rock scene opening for acts such as Electric Six\, Here Come the Mummies and Low Cut Connie. \nHer debut album\, Act Two\, (coming April 10\, 2026) was inspired by her wayward career jump from full-time attorney to full-time musician. Try explaining that to your parents. The album blends intimate storytelling and clever lyricism to explore the depths of an inner world that refuses to cooperate with societies’ expectations. \n It has been described as “intensively forward thinking” and “uniquely resonant.” \nhttps://carolineinthegarden.com/
