SUMMARY:Lincoln Drive Clean-Up
DESCRIPTION:Meeting at Historic RittenhouseTown\nParking: There are several small parking areas at Historic RittenhouseTown and more free parking along nearby neighborhood streets. See map for details.\nBathrooms: None \nJoin Friends of the Wissahickon for a special large-scale clean-up along Lincoln Drive! For this effort\, the Drive will be closed from Wissahickon Avenue to Ridge Avenue\, providing volunteers with safe access to a heavily traveled road. By removing litter along the roadway\, we can prevent trash from washing into the creek during rainstorms and help protect habitat and stream health. \nAll are welcome to attend\, and no experience is needed. We encourage attendees to work within their own comfort level\, and we always strive to accommodate needs on an individual basis. With that being said\, this service day may include the following activities:\n• Litter clean-up\n• Hiking up to 2 miles (we’ll be traveling up and down Lincoln Drive picking up trash) \nWe provide gloves\, tools\, and instruction–you just need to show up! Be sure to wear sturdy footwear and long pants\, and remember to bring water with you. Detailed information and confirmation of the meeting location will be sent by email one business day before the event. If you are hoping to bring a group of 5 or more people\, please reach out to us first. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org.

SUMMARY:The Clover Lead Challenge: A Choose-Your-Own-Distance Hike
DESCRIPTION:Meeting at Valley Green Inn\nFour leaf clovers are special and a recognized symbol of luck and rarity. Join Trail Ambassadors Lisa Kleiman\, Susie Gettes\, Debra Brackett\, and Margaret Kinnevy for a cloverleaf-shaped hike exploring four quadrants of Wissahickon Valley Park—hike 1\, 2 3\, or all 4 ‘leaves’—there is a distance for everyone! How many can you complete!? \nOur hiking adventure will start at Valley Green Inn. We will hike a cloverleaf loop\, returning to Valley Green after completing each of the 4 different loops\, passing many Wissahickon landmarks along the way. At the end of each loop\, you can choose to continue onto the next loop\, or call it a day! Mileage options will be approximately 3.5\, 6\, 8.5 and 11 miles. Anticipated elevation for the first half of the hike is 600 feet\, and approximately 1000 feet for the full 11 mile hike. \nThe terrain is hilly with rocks and roots\, and depending on the weather the trails may be muddy as well\, so come prepared! Our route will provide hikers with the opportunity to hike both alongside and high above the creek\, affording beautiful springtime views. Restrooms available at the beginning and end of each loop at Valley Green. Hikers should come prepared with plenty of water and snacks\, and clothing layered for the weather. \nDistance: 3.5/6/8.5/11 miles\nDifficulty Level: Moderate-Difficult (some inclines and declines\, uneven surfaces)\nAudience: Ages 18+\nParking: There are three lots near the Inn. The northern parking lot can be accessed by Wises Mill Road\, and the southern by Valley Green Road. Overflow parking is in the Upper Lot.\nRestrooms: There should be bathrooms available outside of the Inn. \nRegistration is required for all events so that participants can be informed of weather or other emergency cancellations. \nUnless otherwise specified\, Trail Ambassador Walks may be on rocky\, rugged trails that may be wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots with socks. Walks are cancelled in heavy rain or icy conditions. Service animals are always welcome. For more information contact Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org. Visit www.fow.org for updates.

SUMMARY:Peace Creeps and BetterDucks at Fallser
DESCRIPTION:Tickets $20 online\, $25 at the door \nAfter 6:30pm on the day of the show\, tickets will only be available at the door. \nDoors at 7:30pm \n  \n  \nPeace Creeps\n  \n \nThe Peace Creeps is the current musical project featuring Richard Bush\, the captivating former frontman of The A’s. A staple of the Philadelphia scene in the ‘70s and early ‘80s\, The A’s achieved national acclaim with hits like “After Last Night” and “A Woman’s Got The Power”—a track later covered by both Clarence Clemons and Jennifer Holliday. \nFollowing two albums on Arista Records and extensive national touring\, Bush transitioned into a period of prolific songwriting and recording. He eventually formed The Peace Creeps alongside guitarist John Marchiano\, bassist Roy Fisher\, and drummer Jeff Pancoast. The band is celebrated for the clever lyricism of Bush and songwriting partner AJay McLaughlin\, blending Elvis Costello–style wit with the rock ‘n’ roll looseness of The Faces and the timeless pop sensibilities of The Beatles. \n  \nfacebook.com/ThePeaceCreeps \n  \n  \nBetterDucks\n  \n \n  \nBetterDucks is an alternative rock group led by German-born vocalist\, guitarist\, and songwriter Dirk Externest. Based in the Philadelphia area\, Externest is joined by a veteran lineup featuring Nick Voutsakis on lead guitar\, Charlie Breuninger on bass\, and Ron Wintersgill on drums. \nSince their formation in 2016\, the band has built a reputation for diverse compositions and sophisticated arrangements. Their sound draws inspiration from a wide spectrum of influential artists\, including REM\, Wilco\, Dire Straits\, Tom Petty\, The Allman Brothers\, and Joe Jackson. BetterDucks are frequent collaborators within the local scene\, having shared stages with prominent Philadelphia-based performers such as Tommy Conwell\, Ben Arnold\, Kenn Kweder\, and their current showmates\, Richard Bush and The Peace Creeps. \nbetterducks.net \n  \n  \n10% off  Taqueria Cresta with your Fallser Club ticket!!\n  \nBy Car or By Train \nThe East Falls Train Station is a short walk from the Fallser Club.
