Voices Of Philly Soul Present Acoustic Sessions with Carla Gamble and Friends at The Fallser

Carla Gamble

Carla Gamble is a singer songwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

At the age of 13, Carla released her first poetry album, “From My Lips to Your Ears”. By age 14 Carla was voted Poet Laureate of Philadelphia. In 2018, Carla released her first single, “Pretty Girl Magic”, which was featured in “For Colored Girls” stage play (Directed by Frankie Darcell).

In June of 2022, Carla released her music compilation titled “She Is”, which received local and national acclaim.

In July 2022, Carla received a citation from the City of Philadelphia for Excellence in Music for her contribution to the culture of the arts in Philadelphia. Carla was invited to join the 2023 new member class for the National Recording Academy (Grammys) as a voting member.

In 2023, Carla created “Voices of Philly Soul” ladies edition concert, celebrating Women’s History Month.

In 2024 Carla expanded “Voices of Philly Soul”, to include a Women’s Edition Comedy Show (Punch Line Philly), a Free Mental Health Panel (Ensemble Arts Philly, Kimmel Center Building – Hamilton Garden), and a Ladies Edition Concert (World Cafe Live – Main Hall).

Carla released her newest EP project, January 2024, titled “Soulsthetic” (R&B). A five-track, 20-minute, Philadelphia R&B/Soul/Soul/Jazz-inspired musical journey. Songs such as “Ode to Philly”,  gives recognition to Philadelphia’s rich historic musical culture. With lyrics that capture the essence of what it was like growing up listening to “The Sound of Philadelphia”, the 2000s hip-hop/neo-soul era.

Carla has graced the stage for companies such as The Please Touch Museum, WeBuyBlack, Forbes Magazine, and Wooder Ice; Most recently, Wawa Welcome America, Nicethings (Chill Moody), World Cafe Live, The Oval, The Delaware Waterfront, City Winery Philadelphia, City Winery NYC, The Rail Park (Philadelphia), and others.

Jakeya Limitless

 

Recording Artist, music director, songwriter, music contractor, and Vocal Coach, serving the city of Philadelphia, the DMV area, and cities and states nationwide. Jakeya has toured with music ensembles and has been afforded solo opportunities globally. Singing and performing in Spain, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Romania, and many other countries abroad.

Jakeya has worked with the likes of Ms. Patti Labelle, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Aloe Blacc, Kim Burrell, Idris Elba, Jazmine Sullivan, and more. In 2018, Jakeya became the Vocal coach for Jazmine Sullivan, to help prepare her for the 2018 Aretha Franklin Tribute, which Jazmine so effortlessly performed at the infamous Essence Festival.

Recently this year, Jakeya had the pleasure of working with Pop Music Mega Star, Sam Smith, alongside her friends and colleagues in the TwoCity Chorus in NYC. Their voices are featured on Sam’s upcoming album, and their faces are highlighted in Sam’s new music video for their new single titled “To Be Free”!

AlxZandria

 

AlxZandria is a multi-hyphenate artist from Philadelphia, with a sultry tone and a captivating presence, leaving a lasting impression on every audience she performs for. Her music is a blend of Soul, R&B, and Pop, with songs that empower and encourage her listeners to follow their dreams unapologetically. In 2024, AlxZandria was awarded “Music Artist of the Year” at the Urban Xpression’s Awards. Other musical accolades include a nomination for “Singer of the Year” and “Best Live Performer”. In addition to music, Alx has also starred in a number of feature films, such as “Carmen” currently streaming on Tubi TV. With no plans of ever stopping, this “rose from concrete” has a whole lot more in store!

By the age of 13, she had honed her talent through rigorous classical training, mastering the techniques that would lay the foundation for her musical journey. Throughout her school years, she actively participated in plays and chorus, further developing her vocal skills and stage presence.

Now, she’s embracing her passion for songwriting, channeling her experiences and emotions into original compositions. With a dream of sharing her unique sound with the world, she is dedicated to crafting music that resonates with listeners, blending classical influences with contemporary styles. As she embarks on this exciting chapter, Your Favorite Jawn is poised to make her mark on the music scene, inspired by her grandmother’s legacy and determined to inspire others with her artistry.
