We’re screening George Nakashima: Woodworker at Umbria Arts. Entry is free. Doors open at 3 PM. Programming begins at 3:30 PM, with introductory remarks by Park Frost. Directed by his nephew John Nakashima, the film offers a portrait of one of the most influential furniture designers of the 20th century. Through archival footage, recordings, and photographs, it traces Nakashima’s creative and spiritual journey from his early training as an architect at MIT to his transformative years in Japan studying traditional woodworking and the founding of his studio in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
